National Civic Impact Fellowship & Incubator Program

Be part of our first national cohort of civic innovators!

Application period is now CLOSED. Check back with us in the fall!

Overview

Building on the success of our Massachusetts model for deep, lasting political engagement, we are creating what hasn’t existed until now: a first-of-its-kind national infrastructure to activate and elevate Asian American and Pacific Islander women at all stages of the political pipeline.

AAWPI’s national fellowship and incubator program is a five-month program (February-June 2022) for AAPI women 22-29 years old. The fellowship funds civic impact projects (up to $10,000) led by young AAPI women aimed to create social change and equity for AAPI communities. Fellows meet weekly as a cohort for leadership development, progress checks, training, and grassroots actions. At the end of the fellowship, fellows will have taken away: (1) implementation of their civic impact projects that serves and activates their community in partnership with community organizations, (2) mentoring and networking with AAWPI alumni, facilitator, and AAPI community leaders, stakeholders, and organizations (locally and nationally), (3) training, discussion, knowledge sharing, and community-based actions addressing  specific issues affecting the AAPI community.

These civic impact projects will serve to build a self-sustaining pipeline and community elevating AAPI women’s civic engagement from voting, to community organizing, to running for office, towards more proportional elected representation and more equitable policy outcomes.
